In ‘Kukeri’, men dress up as monsters for the Bulgarian winter folk festival of Surva by wearing hand made-masks, embroidered and beaded clothing and heavy belts of bells to ward away evil spirits and encourage bountiful harvest. Fashion designer duo Chopova Lowena referenced "Kukeri" along with 1980s wrestling culture, seeing connections between these two types of orchestrated ritual – both involve DIY costumes and over-the-top performance. Photographer, Charlotte Wales traveled with Chopova Lowena to Pernik, Bulgaria, to document the festival and interspersed it with studio shots of the new Chopova Lowena collection. Designed by Jamie Reid.

Decaying with the speed of spring tells the enigmatic story of a woman who encounters multiple versions of herself. As the number of versions grows, she spends time observing them until the experience becomes overwhelming.
The book unfolds like a cinematic fairy tale, primarily through photographs that capture the protagonist’s external world, while illustrations provide a glimpse into her inner thoughts and emotions. Through this journey, the book explores themes of self-acceptance, personal growth, and the process of letting go.

On the islands in the Strait of Hormuz, off the southern coast of Iran, there is a common belief that the winds can possess a person, bringing illness and disease. The existence of similar convictions in some African countries suggests that the cult may have been brought to Iran from southeast Africa through the Arab slave trade. This history is rarely spoken about but these winds and the traces they have left on the islands and their inhabitants are the touchstone for Hoda Afshar's Speak The Wind. Through her subtle and perceptive images of the extraordinary landscapes, the people and their rituals, Afshar's beautiful and complex book attempts to picture the wind and its psychic entanglements, to form a visible record of the invisible.

Set during a summer in rural Devon, I’d like to get to know you is an exploration of the tentative foray into a new relationship.
Francesca turns her gaze curiously on her younger sister Alida, but not without hesitation. Growing up, the traditional sibling bond has felt elusive. The series documents the sisters tiptoeing around each other with a palpable tension, a push and a pull, opening up and later holding back; relationships are not linear.
The resulting body of work paints a vivid and sun-soaked picture of a complex yet flourishing relationship with changing dynamics, not only in how Francesca sees Alida, but how Alida sees herself.

Fragile Face Lay Flat (Venetia Scott and Sion and Moore, 2019) presents around 30 images taken by Scott during the last 12 years, shown in a different perspective from that of their original context; all of the photographs have been cropped to show only the models’ faces, creating a newfound sense of intimacy between the viewer and the subject. The result is a raw, real and personal experience for anyone delving into Scott’s photographic practice.
